Aluminum Milagro - Mexico

Our students create their own aluminum sculptures. Note the outstanding detail on this piece by Trinh Nguyen, Class of '04.

In Spanish the word Milagro literally means miracle or surprise. In Hispanic folk culture Milagros are small silver votive offerings in the shapes of body parts, animals, food, and more. They are symbolic of a promise between a believer and a higher spirit, tangible testimony of a wish being made or gratitude that one has been fulfilled.
